Physical well-being, personal happiness and
social confidence – these are among the most important qualities
that All Hallows encourages.
So, from carefully balanced and appetising
food, through comfortable and home-like boarding accommodation
to regular cultural, entertainment and social events, we give
our children all they need for a healthy body, mind and spirit.
Just to watch
them grow in stature, in their abilities and self-esteem, in
their communication and their friendships, is a wonderful privilege
that every member of staff appreciates and respects.

All Hallows retains and celebrates its modern
boarding school ethos by providing huge flexibility and superb
pastoral care. Resident Houseparents (all with young families
of their own), medically-qualified nursing staff and assistant
student teachers work collaboratively as a strong and talented
team alongside the Headmaster and his family who also
live on the premises. All non-resident staff also contribute
to the busy duty and welfare programme in place seven days a
week.
Ongoing refurbishment of dormitories provides
warm and welcoming bedroom areas and the school’s extensive facilities
allow ample recreational opportunities. An ambitious Boarding
Development Plan is well under way, continuing to develop
the school’s fine reputation for providing high-quality boarding
care:
All Hallows was recently inspected by OFSTED
(January/February 2008). This is an overview of what the inspector
found during the inspection:
The boarding arrangements at the
school are excellently managed by an appropriately qualified
and experienced Head Teacher, who all the inspectors found to
be popular and respected by pupils, parents and staff. A team
of dedicated and professional staff support the Head teacher
in providing a happy boarding atmosphere and good standard of
care.
Helping children achieve
well and enjoy what they do - the provision is outstanding.
Helping
children make a postitive contribution to their own lives and
those of the wider community - the provision is outstanding.

We
believe that the opportunities for children to respond to the
differing challenges of full-, weekly-, occasional- and day-boarding
creates the best environment for our young people to develop
the skills of independence, confidence, thoughtful use of
free time, friendships and other personal qualities so vital
in today’s world. Boarding is no longer a matter of necessity
imposed by circumstances; at All Hallows it is an active matter
of choice by both parents and children.
Everybody gains!

All Hallows is a mainstream, busy boarding
school with seven-days per week “wrap-around care” during term-time;
children tell us (regularly!) that food is important!
The school kitchens and dining room
prepare and provide excellent all-round catering through breakfast,
lunches and suppers, as well as appropriate snacks at other times.
Healthy eating is an important aspect of the school’s provision
and the education of our children regarding choice, life-style
and a balanced diet is a central part of our planning. All catering
staff are qualified and experienced; food is prepared on-site;
local suppliers are used as a matter of course; children and
staff contribute ideas and preferences to the School Council.

Parents should note that they are always welcome
to join us for meals, particularly before and after sports matches
when sustenance might be appreciated especially!
